Looking Forward to a Good Year Ahead

On 20th September the Association held its Annual General Meeting 2023 at the offices of Ketelsen Enterprise in West Perth. The AGM was attended by the majority of WAGBA committee members and numerous members. In total 35% of the voting rights were represented. As per the constitution of WAGBA this well exceeded the required quorum.

A Breathtaking Celebration by the Swan River

On the 18th of December, members and friends gathered together to celebrate the joyous occasion of the WAGBA 2023 Christmas Party. Despite a last-minute change in venue for this year's Christmas Party due to COVID-related disruptions, attendees were pleased to have a delightful evening by the scenic Swan River at the Bayside Café in Matilda Bay.

Celebrating an Annual German Tradition at Juniper & Bay

On the evening of 25th October, WAGBA members and friends gathered together in celebration of spring for “ein Deutsches Spargelessen”, otherwise known as the German White Asparagus Dinner, at Juniper & Bay, Como. Attended by around 45 guests, the dinner was also attended by the former Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany and former WAGBA President Bill Hassell AM; Singapore Airlines representative Jacki D’Antonio; as well as Dr. Suresh Letchmanan, CEO of Borussia Dortmund Asia Pacific, as our esteemed guests. The dinner presented an amazing networking opportunity within a relaxed setting for all attending guests with ties to Western Australian - German businesses.

Yet Another Successful Event Hosted by the Hon. Sabine Winton MLA

A small number of the West Australian-German Friendship Group were invited to dinner by MLA Sabine Winton at Parliament House on Tuesday 28 November 2023. Stephan Kirsch, the President of WAGBA, attended, along with several WAGBA committee members, including Torsten Ketelsen OAM, and Pamela Millar. Karin Tramp-Lutz, a member of WAGBA and Tanja Colgan, the President of TAGWA, were also invited. Served with delectable food and complimentary wines, the members had the wonderful privilege of admiring the building’s interiors with its lovely woodwork, paintings, and stained-glass windows.
